Ain’t Walthamstow Grand?

I love Walthamstow. After all, I have moved here and chosen to build my life within this community! I’ve lived here for five years but have been coming to the area of over eight as my partner also lives here. When it came to the point where I was able to buy my own home not only did I want to be near her but also I rather enjoyed Walthamstow’s own charms. It’s not a bad area but it’s not an overpriced posh one. You can still find lots of cheap places to eat and many of them are lovely (Mental note: must review some of them soon). There is a variety of architecture, lifestyles and a huge ethnic mix. There’s also a lot of unusual, cool, weird under the radar stuff that you might not know about. There’s stuff I don’t know about and I hope you out there in webland will tell me about. So I can blog about it and we can go exploring together.

I live in Walthamstow so that’s my focus but feel free to let me know about stuff that’s around the whole of Waltham forest. And anything that concerns the borough that’s outside of it (eg Grayson Perry’s ‘Walthamstow Tapestry’ that is on display in Islington).
